COLLEGE PROFILE

R.R.M.K. Arya Mahila Mahavidyalaya is managed by the ARYA VIDYA SABHA (Regd.) which apart from this institution also manages three other Institutions, viz. Arya Senior Secondary School for Boys, Arya Senior Secondary School for Girls and Smt. Mela Devi Kalra Public School, Pathankot. To impart higher education to the girls of the town and sub urban areas, Arya National Academy was formed in, 1955 as an offshoot of Arya Girls Higher Secondary School by Mrs. S. Mohan Former Principal of the School, with 20 students in a hut. Credit goes to the eminent Kalra Family of the town whose Senior member, revered late Sh. Lala Ram Rakha Kalra Ji donated huge funds for the construction of rooms for the Teaching Block and thus shaped it into a college.

The college was established on July 5th 1969 and got affiliated to Punjab University. On June 30th, 1970, its affiliation was transferred to GURU NANAK DEV UNIVERSITY, AMRITSAR. At present the strength of the institution is more than 1000. It has been recognized by U.G.C. under section 2(f) with effect from 13th Feb. 1976. It is running 7 PG Courses along with undergraduate courses. It has a 53-year-old history with glorious past and bright future. The college is situated near Shahpur Chowk. It meets all the requirements of healthy atmosphere to enhance the grasping power of the students. It has commodious classrooms, sufficient furniture, a well-equipped Library, Gymnasium, two N.S.S Units and adequate medical facilities.

Its governing body consists of various eminent educationists, doctors, lawyers, Industrialists, philanthropists, social workers and politicians. The college has made tremendous progress under the able guidance of Late. Sh. Madho Ram, Late Sh. Jeevan Lal Verma, Late Sh. Kuldip Chand, Late. Sh. Lala Achhar Mal Verma, Late Sh. G.L. Gupta & Sh. B.R. Kalra, Late Sh. Sat Mahajan and Late.Sh. Ram Ahluwalia. Presently this institution is flourishing under the strenuous efforts of Sh. Ashok Kumar (President), Dr. Arvind Kalra (Gen. Secretary), Sh. Sandeep Mittal (Finance Secretary), Manager Smt. Rashmi Ahluwalia and Co-Manager Sh. Vineet Mahajan Ji and others members of the Managing Committee. With the benign blessings and support of our worthy patrons, it has a long list of students who have won awards and medals at University, State, National & International Level.

आर्य समाज के दस नियम

सब सत्य विद्या और जो पदार्थ विद्या से जाने जाते हैं उन सबका आदि मूल परमेश्वर है।
ईश्वर सच्चिदानन्दस्वरूप, निराकार, सर्वशक्तिमान, न्यायकारी, दयालु, अजन्मा, अनन्त, निर्विकार, अनादि अनुपम, सर्वाधार, सर्व-व्यापक, सर्वान्तर्यामी, अजर, अमर, अभय, नित्य, पवित्र और सृष्टिकर्ता है। उसी की उपासना करने योग्य है।
वेद सब सत्य विद्याओं की पुस्तक है। वेद का पढ़ना-पढ़ाना और सुनना-सुनाना सब आर्यों का परम धर्म है।
सत्य को ग्रहण करने और असत्य को छोड़ने में सर्वदा उद्यत रहना चाहिए।
सब काम धर्मानुसार अर्थात् सत्य और असत्य को विचार करके करने चाहिए।
संसार का उपकार करना इस समाज का मुख्य उद्देश्य है अर्थात् शारीरिक, आत्मिक और सामाजिक उन्नति करना।
सबसे प्रीतिपूर्वक धर्मानुसार यथायोग्य बर्तना चाहिए।
अविद्या का नाश और विद्या की वृद्धि करनी चाहिए।
प्रत्येक को अपनी ही उन्नति से सन्तुष्ट नहीं रहना चाहिए किन्तु सबकी उन्नति में उपनी उन्नति समझनी चाहिए।
सब मनुष्यों को सामाजिक सर्वहितकारी नियम पालने में परतंत्र रहना चाहिए और प्रत्येक हितकारी नियम में सब स्वतंत्र रहे।
